Description: From Classic Auctions: Late-Seventies uniform worn by netminder Hardy Astrom while tending goal for his native Sweden. Astrom, who was dubbed "The Swedish Sieve" by the colorful Don Cherry, spend parts of three seasons in the NHL with the New York Rangers and Colorado Rockies. The gold mesh jersey has a heat-pressed Tre-Kronor (Three Crown) crest and back and arm numbers and the Polar Caravans sponsor advertisement is screened across the back shoulders. Game wear is light with scuffs on one sleeve across the arm number and the jersey is tagged in the collar by SportJohan. This example was probably worn by Hardy in senior play as a member of the Swedish National Team at the World Championships, either in 1977 or 1978. |
